Meet the Team
Offploy prides itself on being a commercially responsible social enterprise. This means that whilst we are a community interest company and our sole purpose is to support people with convictions into employment we will do this with the lowest possible impact to the public purse. Our team ensures our activities continue to be of benefit to both our candidates and society.
Social Employment Advisor
I am an ex member of the armed Forces, serving in the household Cavalry Mounted Regiment The Queens Lifeguards. I enjoyed my time Immensely, serving 5 years within the regiment. I am married with twin daughters.
After leaving the Armed Forces I went through some dark times leading to me serving time within the criminal justice system for various offences. While serving as a volunteer with the CRC (Community Rehabilitation Company) I was introduced to Offploy by Richard, He came and gave a little talk on who Offploy were and what the organisation did. I was really interested in finding out more, so I was invited to sit in on one of the Employability courses that Offploy run, and, as the saying goes “the rest is History”. I joined Offploy in February of 2019, I started out as a volunteer sitting in on Employability courses and helping out with candidates. Eventually I started Delivering the courses. I was over the moon when I was offered a full-time Paid role.
My role as a Social Employment Advisor is to use my experience of the criminal Justice system to communicate to our candidates that there IS opportunities out there for people with criminal convictions, and once on board with Offploy Deliver our Employability Courses, and help them on the 9 step candidate Journey to finding employment.
I am so honoured to be a part of the Offploy CIC team and to be able to give back a little something to the candidates we work with. With myself having the lived experience of criminal convictions I feel my knowledge can go a long way to helping turn candidates lives around, if I can help one person on the road to meaningful, mentored and sustainable employment and not to re-offend then that is reward enough.
I always say to each candidate on my courses if you can own your convictions then you can write your own story as there are three C’s in life: Choices, Chances, Changes….you must make a Choice to take the Chance or your life may never Change.
If you do not like where you are,
You are not a tree
