Are there any restrictions on the people you work with?
We firmly believe in offering support and assistance to everyone, regardless of their past or prior convictions. By not discriminating against individuals based on their background, we commit ourselves to true social inclusion, paving the way towards a safer society. Our work focuses on fostering growth and development in various aspects of life so that everyone can have an equal chance at making positive changes and contribute to their communities. By adopting this inclusive approach, we ensure a fair and just system for all.
Does Offploy only work with ex-offenders?
No, while we began with a focus on supporting people with convictions, we soon realised that a conviction is often a symptom of deeper social exclusion issues. As a result, our reach now extends to offer support and empathy to anyone at risk of offending, following the 7 pathways of reducing reoffending. We work with individuals who may never have had any legal encounters, but find themselves in high-stress situations that could lead to trouble—such as financial management struggles, substance and chemical misuse, insecure housing, mental or physical health challenges, isolation, or unemployment. By addressing the root causes with compassion and understanding, our mission is to create a more inclusive society where everyone receives the support they need to lead a fulfilled life.
Can I refer someone or myself if you're not in my area?
We truly appreciate your interest in reaching out for assistance and guidance. We understand the impact our support can have on lives and communities. However, due to the overwhelming demand for our services, we're only able to operate where we've been commissioned by a kind-hearted funder, statutory body, or contractor. We strive to make a meaningful difference, providing tailored support and nurturing connections within communities we have been contracted to serve. If you'd like to discover where we're currently funded or if you're interested in commissioning our services to bring our expertise, empathy, and hope to your area, please take a moment to learn more about our live projects here. We're deeply committed to our mission of creating positive, lasting change and aspire to continually expand our reach, touching the lives of countless more people in need.
Can Offploy recruit socially excluded people for my business?
While we're not a traditional recruitment agency, we hold a deep understanding of the challenges faced by socially excluded individuals and the value they can bring to your business. We're committed to supporting them in finding meaningful employment, and at the same time, we offer guidance to businesses like yours, preparing you to embrace the potential of hiring individuals with convictions. We instill confidence and resilience in our candidates, teaching them to seek new opportunities, overcome rejection, and persevere. If you're an employer who wants to fill your vacancies with individuals who have grown personally and are eager to contribute their skills, please explore our employer services page. By partnering with Offploy, you're joining forces with a team that shares your commitment to empowering lives and fostering a supportive work environment.
Can Offploy participate in our event/jobs fair/workshop?
We truly appreciate the invitation to be a part of your event, as we understand the immense value of shared experiences and raising awareness about social inclusion. Our primary mission is mentoring and supporting socially excluded individuals—a service that is often in great demand. As such, we consider each opportunity to participate in events, jobs fairs, or workshops on a case-by-case basis.
Connecting on an emotional, human level is integral to the work we do, and we love inspiring audiences and imparting valuable knowledge through speaking engagements and tailored training sessions; however, these are usually charged at a fixed day-rate plus expenses. We typically don't attend jobs fairs because our referral process is digital and provided via commissioned routes, so we don't accept applications for our support at such events. But we're always keen to collaborate and share our passion for creating a more inclusive society with others who share our vision.
Why is there no phone number on your website?
We truly appreciate the importance of reaching out for support and connecting with like-minded individuals who share our goals and values. However, since we don't operate an emergency service, we've found that having a centralised phone number isn't the most efficient way to address the varied needs and enquiries of our audience. Instead, we've designed our website to be a comprehensive source of information, guiding you to the appropriate web form or specified links that are tailored to handle specific inquiries.
We genuinely value your understanding, and we assure you that every web enquiry we receive is treated with the utmost care and dedication. Our passionate team is committed to reading and responding to each query, where necessary, within 10 working days. Through this personalised and focused approach, we aim to provide the best possible assistance, ensuring that our mission for social inclusion and empowering lives continues to flourish and touch hearts across the UK.
