1. Getting the culture right

Create a bank of case studies of existing colleagues with convictions

Develop a collection of real-life case studies showcasing colleagues with convictions, while managing potential risks and GDPR compliance challenges. These case studies will inspire and change perceptions across the organisation.

What does success look like?

  1. A carefully curated collection of case studies highlighting colleagues with convictions

  2. An understanding of GDPR compliance and risk management related to the case studies

  3. An effective tool to change perceptions and build a more inclusive culture.

How would Offploy do it?

  • Develop a clear plan for collecting and sharing case studies, including the objectives, timeline, and resources needed.

  • Identify key stakeholders who will be involved in collecting and sharing case studies, including colleagues with convictions, line managers, HR, and communications.

  • Understand the GDPR compliance requirements for collecting and sharing personal information, and develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

  • Manage potential risks associated with collecting and sharing personal information, including confidentiality breaches, reputational risks, and legal risks. Consider any risk to the colleague themselves which may result from them being open about their conviction. In rare cases you may need to advise the colleague that you consider that the risk to them outweighs the benefits of sharing their story.

  • Engage with colleagues with convictions and seek their informed consent to participate in the case studies.

  • Collect relevant information about the colleagues' experiences, including their background, challenges they faced, and how the organisation supported them.

  • Draft the case studies in a way that is sensitive and respectful to the colleagues' experiences and highlights their contributions and achievements.

  • Review the case studies with colleagues and seek their feedback to ensure accuracy and sensitivity.

  • Share the case studies across the organisation through appropriate channels, such as newsletters, intranet, or training sessions.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the case studies in changing perceptions and building a more inclusive culture, and continuously improve the collection based on feedback and results.
