Marks & Start
by
Marks & Spencer
The Marks & Start program is designed for individuals who face barriers to employment, including ex-offenders. M&S collaborates with partner organisations to identify and support suitable candidates. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact one of Marks & Start’s program partners directly for more information on eligibility and application procedure

The Application Process
Partner Referral: Applicants are referred to the Marks & Start program through M&S’s partner organizations, which provide pre-placement training and support.
Work Placement: Participants undertake a 2–4-week work experience placement in M&S stores or offices, during which they receive training on key retail skills and are paired with a buddy for everyday support.
Assessment and Employment: If the placement is successful and the participant demonstrates aptitude for the role, they may be offered employment without needing to go through the standard recruitment process.
